Re: Andy's 91' 80q
There’s room for a muffler under the passenger side rear seat
I’m debating about making one with a little copper and/or other crazy metals to get a different exhaust tone. Already going to have a Flowmaster under the trunk

Re: Andy's 91' 80q
I bypassed going up and around the diff on mine. It is now the first thing that hits anything. I plan on redoing mine to snake around. Your image looks like what I had I mind. 45deg over the CV. I kinda gave up fitting it correctly. Even the same box of amazon pipe but in 2.5 :D Hanger situation ...

Re: Andy's 91' 80q
I’m gonna have to fix that. There’s not much room with a 3” pipe in a 2” ditch. I’m debating about just bolting the flex pipe back straight to the car with rubber isolators

Re: Andy's 91' 80q
1.9 bar / 13.5 psi or 2.2 bar / 17.5 psi?
That is the question
If I was to guess the intake hose at the throttle body popping off is its weakest link.
Bonding silicone to aluminum:
Permabond
Polyolefin primer
Permabond cyanoacrylate 105

Re: Andy's 91' 80q
Here’s progress so far. No oval tubing. Can’t get it to fit
do you all run 3” tubing? I’m worried about ground clearance and melting things?

Re: Andy's 91' 80q
I shortened the downpipe a little to fit this
I hope haha. Wish me luck. 3” oval tubing. More ground clearance and will leave more room from melting the axle boot

Re: Andy's 91' 80q
Hello again. It’s been a long time. I decided to keep it. Too sentimental. The piston rings went. I’m going to be able to get a short block from Marc in about 6 months. Now that I know which turbine housing I’m going to use I can make the exhaust and intake as well.
Glad you kept it! I've ...

Making a downpipe is much more difficult than I thought. A new found respect for fabricators. Here’s what I got so far.

Re: Andy's 91' 80q
IMG_0077.jpeg I pushed her back into the garage on the first. Happy new year everyone. for the third time around. This time I’m getting a short block professionally built. Didn’t have much luck the first two times. I’ve gotta make the intake and exhaust first so we can tune it properly. The intake ...

Haha. It’s been a 18 year long project. It’s hard to believe myself. So long my mind still doesn’t register that it’s available to useDE80q wrote:I'll believe it when I see it!![]()
I shouldn't say though, mine hasn't moved in 2 years haha.

Re: Andy's 91' 80q
Everything is great 100 or so miles later. I needed a vacation from it. It turned into an obsession again and now I can relax. It’s back to it now.
First is the power steering doesn’t work. I used a mini cooper electric pump that’s not coming on.
Just ordered one today. This weekend I’ll finally ...

Re: Andy's 91' 80q
After starting it for the first time the second time around. Had a loose oil cooler hose and a leaky freeze plug. They are now fixed. Gotta get a plate and registration and I should also hook up the electric power steering pump. Not sure if that affects tuning. It is more of a load on the engine. I ...
